I believe Media Express is for Blackmagic hardware only. I haven’t captured DV or anything via firewire in quite a while, especially on my mac. But there are some free apps for Mac to capture DV via fireware. Check out my link. It will keep the DV25 quality that is on the tape. You do know that when you import it into FCP, it converts it to ProRez right?

I took a screen shot of your original and used these settings and this is what a 5 sec you tube vid looks like for me.
In the render settings, in the project tab, I set render quality to best.

Unreal. I use an SSD in one two of my machines and the speed difference is fantastic to say the least. But I bet the price will be though the roof. I would be a little nervous spending that much on one drive since even SSD’s can fail. I would maybe rather have four 4TB SSD drives. If by a very remote chance of a failure, I would still have 12 TB instead of none.
Still it’s very cool that they can make those now. It should make the price of SSD’s come down, I would hope.Danny Hays

The fact that that computer didn’t have this problem before, if you haven’t changed any hardware lately, you can do a system restore to a time before this started happening. It won’t cause you to lose any of your files but it will take your operating system back to that time. You probably did an update, installed something, got a virus, something has changed with the operating system.

I just tried putting a few mp3s back to back in VEGAS PRO 12 and 13 and did not have that problem. Since it’s happening with several types of audio,It’s not the audio file. I would first try changing you audio driver here.
If the problem still happens, I would try uninstalling and reinstalling Vegas.Danny Hays

That’s interesting. Instead of me trying to figure this out with several posts back and forth and since that audio track is an mp3, it’s small enough to email it to me so I can try it with Vegas 13 on my computer and see if it happens. danhays2004@yahoo.com

Monitoring the S video out of the shuttle will tell you if it’s the TBC causing it. Won’t the person using the tape need one between their VCR and digital switcher anyway? As far as if it’s a field order or not I’m not knowledgeable enough on that subject as I use progressive HD and convert any interlaced video to that. I don’t like the way interlaced video looks.

I just downloaded Bandicam and tried it. It works with Vegas Pro 13. I believe you have a codec installed that keeps it from working for you. Two options, Do a system restore to a time when it worked for you, or do a fresh install of Windows and Vegas.
