Field order can be different depending on the capture device. Typically, HD is upper first and SD is lower first.
The “Stuck field” problem is a digital issue and analog tape can’t cause that. I’m sure if you monitor the output of your Shuttle composite or S video on a tv, it will show the same problem. Are you working with SD or HD video and are you using Media Express to play or an NLE?
I gather you’re on a Mac since it’s a thunderbolt device. I have the USB3 Shuttle on a PC and have not seen issues like that. I put a Solid State drive in one of my laptops and can capture HD MJPEG, 8 bit AVI and even 10 bit uncompressed avi without any problems. Although I have never had the need to use the sd outputs of my shuttle.https://www.provideocoalition.com/field_order

Unless you create a sub clip within the trimmer, you’re never really cutting a clip your only referencing a certain part of the original full length clip. So when you drag the edge of a clip in the timeline to shorten it or lengthen it you’re not cutting the clip you’re only seeing that part of it if you’re dragging it out longer and you see a v, it starting the clip over and playing it again, it’s not playing another clip.

Do previously made clips that used to work still work? If they do, try reinstalling Bandicam.

CTRL + dragging and Velocity envelopes are the only way to slow down a clip in Vegas. If your seeing a V, then your dragging past the end of the clip and it repeats at the V. Have you double clicked on a velocity envelope and created a keyframe or keyframes yet. You can choose where and how much it is slowed down very accurate with that method.

August 11, 2015 at 1:10 am in reply to: DJI Phantom 3 Standard camera workable with Sony Vegas?Wow! I just researched that a little. If I understand, the remote control of the phantom is separate from the remote control of the camera right? Is all the Phantom 2 the same as the Phantom 3 Other than the 3 comes with gimble and camera? I have a GoPro Hero 4 Black already. I know I cant control it at a mile away like you can control the phantom. How far can you control the 4k camera you have? Also the gopro app doesn’t give me a really great preview live but is totally usable. You get a 4k or 1080 preview live with your camera? If I put my GoPro on a Phantom, I would have to use the gopro app intead of the DJI app right?

August 10, 2015 at 6:23 am in reply to: Should I get a 4K monitor or TV for video editing?John is totally right when he says that a real mother will give you more accurate colors. I have an HD TV connected to my computer and use it as my main monitor. If I really want to verify the colors are correct I can drag the preview window over to the monitor and check it there. But I really love the large screen and real estate you get with an inexpensive TV compared to the price of a same size monitor. But if you do look at a high end Mac connected to a high an Apple monitor like John mentions, the picture is pristine, if you can afford it. But remember the display adapter in a Mac or PC affects color as well.

August 10, 2015 at 5:38 am in reply to: DJI Phantom 3 Standard camera workable with Sony Vegas?Did the camera fix the fish eye effect while it was recording and that’s the file you got from it? It looks like it was fish eye fixed with GoPro studio. It does the same as what I see in this video by stretching out the sides where things are wider on the left the right and when you pan you can see the things on the left and right are moving faster than in the middle. I found a fix for that in Vegas if you can get the video from the camera before it fixes the fish eye effect without that problem. Let me know if you’re interested on how to do that.
