  • I was afraid of that – wanted to work with unsqueezed footage. C’est la vie.

    Thanks for the comments!

  • That’s what I’m thinking. Is there any workaround that doesn’t involve a transcode or copying the files to a system drive?

    hi-
try dropping the 16:9 into the 4:3 sequence then open the motion tab for the 16:9 sequence in the viewer. Under distort there’s a tool to alter the aspect – I believe you can set this to -33 and presto its stretched to widescreen.

    OR

you could drop some raw anamorphic footage into the 4:3 – make sure it letterboxes – then copy it. delete it, drop in yr 16:9 sequence and paste attributes. select the distort and basic motion check-boxes and presto…

i’m having a similar problem – my project loads to about 19% and then FCP opens up with a new project instead of the one I opened. It doesn’t crash my computer but it won’t open the project file…

    any suggestions?

    ok guys – here’s a little tip-

We had Final Cut Pro and Avid installed on the same system (as well as Adobe CS2 and a Keyspan serial to USB adapter).

POSSIBLY, Final Cut was causeing the problem – maybe something with Avid’s playback settings or something like that. So watch y’all’s backs if you run both FCP and Avid on the same machine as it may cause a conflict in the new systems.
