We’re running one of the top of the line new quad G5s.

There seem to be some playback issues – here’s the situation-

Updated firmware on the old G5 and tested Avid – everything played back just fine at full res, half-res and lo-res.
Then we transferred the mojo to the new G5, just as instructed, and opened up Xpress Pro. The old projects seemed to open fine and playback just fine at half and lo res. At full resolution, the audio and picture jitter constatly – almost like a field-dominance issue. Nothing seems to work. We’ve tried playing back media from the internal drive, from a G-raid and from a LaCie drive – both drives were on Firewire800 connections.

Checked all settings, tried reinstalling, even tried a different (updated) mojo. Nothing fixes the jitter. Is this a bug with the new quad G5s?? Has anyone else seen this?

    Thanks,
    -danny

    ok guys – here’s a little tip-

We had Final Cut Pro and Avid installed on the same system (as well as Adobe CS2 and a Keyspan serial to USB adapter).

POSSIBLY, Final Cut was causeing the problem – maybe something with Avid’s playback settings or something like that. So watch y’all’s backs if you run both FCP and Avid on the same machine as it may cause a conflict in the new systems.
