    Shane,

As Gary points out, this is a bit of a ‘hack’ but it seems to work and we’re hoping it will help those in a bind. Since we don’t have access to a PAL camera, we’re hoping the HVX200 Euro community can try it out and give us feedback.

The implemented method worked well on a customer supplied sample.

    Rainer,

Try out our newest HD Log demo, just posted 5-24-06. It now supports PAL 720 25/50. You should be able to view the clip and export All or Selected Clips for FCP XML which makes the QT files with metadata for you…ready to edit. http://www.imagineproducts.com

BTW, we welcome your comments on this solution.

Easy. Import the P2 volume(s) into HD Log–it doesn’t require the .TXT file. Select any clips you want and Export FCP XML. Creates the QT files ready to edit in FCP…plus your P2 clips are now all indexed for future reference. http://www.imagineproducts.com

Or, you could try out the newest HD Log demo we posted yesterday that appears to solve the PAL 720 issues 😉

You should be able to view 720/25 or 50, and create QT files of selected P2 clips.

HD Log can handle both DV and color based scene detection, as well as TC breaks. It can also do this from QT file, FireWire connection or analog video feed. http://www.imagineproducts.com/hdlog.htm
