    Hi Forum,

about to start editing a TVC tomorrow, shot on a P2 today… producer tells me that someone has copied the contents of the cards accros to a firewire drive and ignored the .txt files.

    bummer

I’m editing in FCP… and have successfully viewed P2 material in FCP using the acknowledged methods of importing footage…

How can I get to the footage without the txt file?

    Very much appreciate your help.

    Sam

you can put the contents folder at the root level in your drive. I have also copied .txt file from one folder to another with success.

I think Jan from Panasonic said the .txt file was
the info needed if a clip spanned two P2 cards.
Otherwise you should not need it.
You can edit the clips together
    manually.

Easy. Import the P2 volume(s) into HD Log–it doesn’t require the .TXT file. Select any clips you want and Export FCP XML. Creates the QT files ready to edit in FCP…plus your P2 clips are now all indexed for future reference. http://www.imagineproducts.com

Video logging is just the beginning…
