Are you talking about the picture on the FCP viewer or do you have a broadcast monitor connected?

    Steve,

I’m talking about on my workstation computer monitor (in the FCP viewer). We have broadcast monitors but they are not HD.

Our settings were 1080-59.94i at 24p. I did not get into any internal settings beyond that.

Thanks Walter . . . .The camera output looks great into a portable HD monitor. It’s in FCP that it looses something. I guess I’m asking this. What settings in FCP should I use to ensure the best outcome . . . .also, if a hardware card gives me more access (Pro Res ?) to better codeds . . which card and what codec. Sorry for all the questions, we are new to this.

How about a simple updating timeline CTI like M100 had ?
Lot’s of Love for FCP but there is room for improvement.

I’m getting lot’s of freezes . . . .the video just freezes but audio continues even though the CTI does not move. I’m also constantly having to refresh A/V devices in order to see what’s on the timeline. I guess the bright side of this is that I’m not dropping frames anymore.

    Dual2.0 G5, 6.5 gigs RAM, Xserve RAID.

  • I think for the most part you’ll be very happy. You may have to contend with dropped frames, a timeline that does not refresh like M100 did but otherwise, it’s a nice step up.

Thanks . . .but the show is not finished and I need to keep all tracks (5) independent . . . won’t mixing down effect that ?

When you say slips . . . .what are they ?
