These are the specs of the SD vs HD files.
Both are pro-res files, both 29.96, fps, both have a (;) in the TC.
One is 720×486, the other 1920X1080

Is that the info needed to make a determination? The files do not have the same starting time / ending time.

In some cases, a one hour SD file was broken into 2 half-hour HD files.

Nightmare, yes?

Just tried to use the FCP7 function of Modify->Timecode and it did not offer the option of a 29.97 time base – only 30fps. Why is that?

Definitely dump all your render/cache files.

I’m in a similar situation. More than a decade. Just up-res’d my minidv tapes to HD using a Teranex 2d processor. But they actually all connected, with a many tweeks, to a new HD timeline. Only problem is needing to update my apple system to sierra or el capitan while not losing fcp7

Haven’t gotten any replies, but in case anyone reads this – would Pluraleyes4 be the answer to my problems?
