  • Hey, thanks!

It seems to work rather well. However, some particles (Specifically Sprite-based) seem to show up for one frame and then disappear at certain points. With a high number of sprites emitting from the source, it makes everything “jumpy” instead of smooth, since a the particles appear and disappear without following their life parameter.

I’ve tried a couple of file types, this is what happens:

-Acceccing a folder with H.264 (MP4) files out of a Canon 5D MII work. (But these are not good files to grade)

-Opening a folder with Prores 422 files sometimes reveals the files, sometimes does’nt. I don’t expect them to work since I’m on a PC. However, after accessing the folder, I can no longer see any of the Canon 5D MII files in the previous folder. I need to restart Davinci Resolve to see them again.

-Cineform (MOV) doesn’t show up either. I have the codec installed and it works on my other programs.

-H264 (MOV) show up, but the playback is black.

-The only thing the works properly is Uncompressed YUV (MOV)

-DPX seems to be a bit slow on the playback side.

Yep, I saw that. I think I’m encountering a bug or I’m doing something wrong. Sometimes video files show up, other times, the same video files, don’t show up. This all happens when I search for files to add to my media pool.

This may help you get started, even though it’s a mac tutorial:

I’m using only one 470GTX (Gigabyte, if that matters). The performance is good, but I also have 6-cores and 24GB RAM. I’ve only tested up to 1920X1080 4:2:2 files. Didn’t have the chance to try 3K or anything above. Everything runs real time, or close enough without slowing you down. The only thing that seems to be a bit slow is the mask-tracking, which isn’t much of an issue, it’s about the same speed as Camera-Tracker plug-in for After Effects.

As for the codec, DNxHD works in MXF wrapping, not in MOV. So for Avid Projects I’m good, now I need to figure out what’s best for exporting from After Effects. (Tried Cineform, which also doesn’t work)
I have run into a weird bug; I search through a folder for footage, which doesn’t show up, then search through another folder and nothing shows up there as well. However, when I don’t search through that specific folder first, everything else shows up fine. Very weird.
    Any ideas?

I wonder if Speedgrade will have tracker options as good as Resolve, because that’s one of Resolve’s best features.

Demetris, I have a Win7 system with a GTX470 and the Resolve lite beta is working for me. Maybe you should update you drivers.

What I’m trying to figure out is what types of codecs does this program read. It seems to not support a lot of codecs. I’m trying to see what would be the best codec I can use without losing information in my video so I could import it to Resolve and CC.
