What is the difference between Compression Master and Compression Engine. I will be running this on one machine only. It is a dual processor G5.

    Thanks,

    Johan,

Thanks for the quick reply. Is this done using the ON2 codec?

Also does Compression Master allow for batch processing of multiple formats from the same clip?

    Thanks,

When will you be adding Flash 8? I am looking for software to do flash videos with and looked on your site, but didn’t notice any mention of flash 8 in your specs.

A timeline would be good to know. I need to be able to do this pretty quick.

    Thanks,

I have a Facilis server in my office. I have 2 G5’s hooked up to it and they scream. I got the 3.2 Gig version (8XS) and with cards it cost around $15K installed. I have had it running since January and not a hiccup. The server is about 150 ft. from my main editing machine and it works great. I have the drives set up as mirror and I still get around 180 megs a second using the Decklink Speed Test. The cost of the unit also includes a spare 400 gig SATA drive in case I have a failure.

I am surprised that BMD has not responded more than the one question from Kristian.

My one year warranty on the card is almost up and I need to solve this problem, and finish my current project, before the warranty expires and my only recourse will be to buy another card. Which by the way would not be another BMD card. I was warned by several vendors not to buy the card, but I had a good track record with their products in the past, but the 2 products I bought this last year have not been of very good quality.

Every since they made the move over to the PC side, the Mac support has not been as good, nor has the frequency of driver updates. I feel like I am using an Avid product again.

I shouldn’t have to unhook a deck to get an input, but I don’t have a deck hooked up. I have my HDLink hooked up to the monitor out HDSDI port.

It is a Panasonic 255 with the SDI card.

I am using the right input. I am getting an image on the monitor that is hooked up to my HDLink via the outputs of the Decklink HD card, so the image is getting through.

I tried using the Deck Control app and the same thing appears on the screen, BMD logo with the type “No Video Input”.

I have checked all the settings and it should be working fine.

    DVCPro deck.

  • Couldn’t you use a USB 2.0 drive which would be fast enough and a different bus?

February 12, 2006 at 9:48 pm in reply to: Can’t turn off Decklink HD downconversion

Well the problem is back. After pulling the cards and changing the order so that the Decklink HD was in the PCI-X 133 slot it worked fine.

Now today when I came in, no go on the HD video output. I can do a downconverted SD video, but not HD.

Could my card be bad? This is driving me nuts.
