Use an adjustment layer. Mask out a narrow section, add your effects, and animate the position to move across the text.

You only need one Element layer. You need two text layers; one for the first word, and one with the rest of the text. Put each text layer in it’s own group.

Can’t you use the Force Opacity parameter in the Particle Look twirl down? Set your first word to Group 1 and the rest to Group 2 so you can fade them on separately.

What are your computer specs? With YouTube, you have the benefit of the video playing on someone else’s machine (their servers). It sounds like a codec or graphics card issue on your computer.

I agree on MPEG Streamclip. Better quality Quicktime H.264 than AME in my opinion. Free download too.

Can you render the logo animation out on an alpha channel separately then place it back on top to render the final file? Doesn’t fix the bug, but could be a work-around if you need it quickly.

720×480 is useless if you want HD video. The H.264 seems a bit small (not sure of the length of your film). Also, H.264 is pretty lossy, so not a good workflow to re-export if you can help it. Not sure what kind of MXF file you have but it is probably your best bet.
This is a good lesson on always saving backups on a separate drive. 😉

It sounds like one of the Range Selector parameters got changed inadvertently. Twirl open your text layers text properties until you see Animator 1>Range Selector. The Start parameter should be keyframed, starting at 0 and ending at 100. Make sure End is at 100 and Offset is at 0.

Just a tip, bit you may want to remove the images with the serial number before someone steals it… I’d contact Red Giant. I’ve found them to be very responsive.
