Thanks again for the help. I miss understood how to color correct a clip. I thought that you could read the color values from the good clip and type these values in the bad clip to adjust the clip. I understand now that you use the color correcting tools in vegas to match one clip to the other by eye, adjusting the sliders until they match.
Thanks,I can see both clips and can switch between them. Now, how do I transfer the correct color to the bad clip. Is there a tutorial anywhere that explains this. I did a search on the internet but didn’t find anything.
You won’t go wrong with either one. I find that with many different teachers I learn more. Vegas is the best NLE I have used. I have tried several. So I wanted the most complete instruction for it.
I have both Gary Kleiner’s DVD’s and DSE (Douglas Spotted Eagle) DVD’s. Both of these were great. I still review these DVD’s to learn more. I would suggest getting both.
To help hard drives last longer under windows XP, I set: Start > settings > control panel> power options > turn off Hard Drives after…
If you let the HD run constantly it does not last as long.
You can use a old laptop, 1394 cardbus and firewire external HD combination with Scenalyzer software to record direct to the external HD. I can get many hours of uninterrupted video with this setup. You could use this combination on each camera. When done connect each external HD to your editing computer. You will have all the files already captured to disk. I would also capture to tape for backup.

I have not had good success rerecording on DV tapes. Sometimes it will work and other times the previous picture shows through. This might be ok for video taping the family dog but when you need to capture the best picture with no glitches use new tapes.
