Thank you very much for your answer. The only thing I don’t understand is, why I need to create two comps and drop on into the other. Is that required for the frame thing to work properly or is that just so that the duration can be adjusted (instead of activating Time Remap)?

I see. Just out of curiosity, does ProRes at trillions of colors have a higher bit rate than at millions of colors?

Also: Is there any disadvantage at all to always using trillions of colors, just to be safe?

I used fast blur and that worked well. Thanks!

“I have two suggestions. First make sure your blur is set to repeat edge pixels.”

Where is that option? I can’t see it in the gaussian blur controls.

“If that doesn’t help, apply a levels effect after the blur and drop down to affect the alpha channel. Set the white input point on the alpha channel to 0.5 (or about 127 if you’re using 8bpc numbers)”

If I would do that it would completely change my mask, making it harsher again.

    n/t

  • So, in your opinion, there would be no way to do this exclusively in Photoshop?

  • I have found that I get the most accurate color by turning color management off in After Effects (when grading for the web). Still, turning it on does not resolve this bug.
