I’d say you should be using a maximum frame size of 320×240 at that bitrate.
can you clarify what your keyframe setting is? – Generally it should be at 10x the frame rate – or in your case every 150 frames. -
Huh? AVI files using the Animation CODEC??? What planet….?
The Animation CODEC belongs to QuickTime, it’s never been part of AVI.
My advice is not to use the Animation CODEC – Go with PhotoJPEG at 100%, quality is equal to Animation, file sizes are far smaller.

I always edit my still camera movies Quicktime Pro. Then just Save As Self contained.
I’ve found that iPhoto is pretty unreliable when it come to importing clips, most of the time it does it ok for me but occasionally it won’t, I call that having a Windows moment.

Invest 15-30 minutes learning how to use Automator, that’ll save a bunch of time.
P.s. TPMGENC is only available on Windows.

Agreed, there’s no need to bother doing the conversion as most devices have no problem displaying NTSC and it’ll always end up looking sub-standard unless you employ a proper broadcast grade standards converter, (or an FCP plug-in from Nattress! – https://www.nattress.com/Products/standardsconversion/standardsconversion.htm )

VBI = Vertical Blanking Interval. An area that can hold teletext, VITC timecode and closed captioning.
Again, I’m not sure if Episode will retain this, or indeed if it’s even ‘captured’ by the Kona card. Craig?
Audio – yes, no problem, ending up with either a muxed file or seperate audio and video files.

DigiBeta is 8bit, 4:2:2 @ 2:1 compression. Capturing that at 10bit uncompressed is a waste of space and processing.
On the encoding side I’m not sure either Compressor or Episode (or Digigami) can output 25Mb/s MPEG-2 at 4:2:2. – This is generally only available on hardware encoders.
