It’s impossible to say without seeing and testing.

Use VBR, 2-Pass if available. Set keyframes to auto with forced keyframes no less than 4 seconds apart, increase the data rate until you become happy with the picture.

Once uploaded to YouTube expect all your hard work and picture quality to be utterly destroyed!

You still need to tell us how long the clip is if you want us to figure out how to get it under 30Mb!

In the meantime us can use this to work out your data rate and the correct frame size.

Don’t bother doing it at a low frame rate, stick to the native frame rate or it’ll look crap whatever you try.

There’s no one size fits all setting. You have given use very little information about your source clip or the setting the website require – Frame size, data rate etc.

Depends how long the clip is. File size has a direct relation to duration and the amount of data used per second. Until you supply us with much more information, there’s nothing much we can help you with.

I’m getting confused with this.

https://bit.ly/aoBheC is a 1440×810 MPEG-2 clip

If you do a ‘Demux Unscaled in MPEGStream Clip you end up with a 1440×1080.m2v – how did you end up with 1440×810 unless you transcoded it?

So, do you want the clip to be deinterlaced or remain interlaced on playback, if you want it to be deinterlaced then for ideal results you need to deinterlace it before playing it back.

More transcoding applications use the MainConcept Codec/SDK than any other H.264 codec. There are more licences of Mainconcepts codec out there than any other (excluding Apple’s, which is rubbish)

Therefore, more ‘professionals’ use Mainconcept than any other codec. It’s impossible to say how many people have integrated x264 into their workflow but many of the huge transcoding setups use open source FFMPEG/x264

Remember if a company goes down the x264 route, there will be nobody on the other end of a telephone line who will support it.

Yes, hours and hours of it. So, to save your time, if you are solely Mac based, just get Episode. It is far better and far more versatile than either AME or MainConcept.
