I use this lens a LOT, Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Lens, and I love it. It’s a fraction of the price of the 1.2 50, and it takes an amazing image. Great in low light, although focusing is pretty tricky with it wide open, but hey, we’re cinematographers, right.
I like using primes (non-zooming) lenses, but it takes some practice.Daniel

I transcode it to ProRes LT in MPEG Streamclip, and then either let FCP automatically set my sequence settings when I drop in the first clip, or set the sequence settings yourself. One thing to remember, it shoots a true 30 fps as opposed to 29.97.
It works GREAT as ProRes (any flavor)Daniel

Do either of you know if the (limited) menu is included as part of the file?

Awesome, thanks for all the answers. I’m only doing 1-5 at a time. I’m probably going to stay away from the stick on labels. I agree with you Mark, I don’t ever want anything to happen with it coming off.

Yeah, the H.264 method seems to be the consensus from a few knowledgeable folks. I will talk to the client and see if his camera plays it and with any luck, it may work out. I’ll let you know the results.
Thanks and by the way, I’m a committed HMC150 user and I love that camera.Daniel

I’ve used SanDisk and Delkin class 6 cards in my HMC-150 and both work great. No problems at all. Have any of you tried to deliver anything finished on an SD card? What is the file type? Daniel

I still have the old version saved on the Macbook Pro, but I was so excited to use the new tower, that I couldn’t wait. For some reason, it’s actually working fine now, I rendered the whole sequence, and it is good. Thank you for your response, I always appreciate the advice from experts in the field.

Awesome, this is the info I was looking for. Thanks to all you guys who responded. There are many other reasons to not get the 13 for your editing station, but this is the primary.

I did go to the specs page earlier and I did see exactly what you are talking about, but I guess I was hoping for anyone’s personal first hand knowledge. Thank you very for your info, I really appreciate the help.

Really, which ever is easier. I also want to get nice audio. I will only be burning DVD’s for the clients, so this is not a crazy high end procedure. Thanks,
