Can you explain how I change the settings under the geometry? I can not find the settings for this.
    Thanks

Thanks. Not sure I quite understand. So…am I correct that you are suggesting I select the clip on the timeline, then type in x, f, Command-J, enter value, F10 and that will adjust the clip speed and not “insert” it, but overwrite it into the timeline? And when you say “enter value” is that the % of speed…or is it the desired length in seconds and frames? Do I need to hold down the cmd button while I type in “x, f, Command-J”?
Sorry if I am being thick, but I am usually more of a mouse click editor than a keyboard shortcut editor, so this is a little foreign to me.
    Thanks

Michael, I am not interested in arguing either, just in knowing how to change clip speed without moving the rest of my sequence. If you know how to do this without copying, I would really appreciate the information. I searched the forum and was not able to find the tip…so any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Thanks for the information. As a somewhat new FCP editor, I assumed that there was a way to turn this feature on and off…very dissapointing. Apple really should consider changing this. The backspace button for a “lift” delete is very helpfull too.
    Thanks
