  • Thanks v much for your post Jan.
That’s great news. Can I ask, when you say audio plug ins, do
you mean external plug ins. I only use Avid ones that come
With the software, so I assume I’m ok.

    Thanks again,
    Dan.

  • Thanks for the post.
I’m not sure what features have been added in version 7 and above.
It’s quite simple cutting, not many FX.
I do a lot of sound work tho, various reverbs for different spaces, and for sound effects etc
Do you think that would be affected?

  • Thanks for the post’s guys, looks like this is the way forward.
I am usuming you can’t implement this software post format, is that right?

    Cheers for help with this.
    Dan.

    Thanks for post Michael.
I don;t know if I have drive (s) filtered out or not.
I have just upgraded, is that an Avid setting or a Mac setting?

    Cheers,
    Dan.

    Thanks for the post’s
I have managed to convert an audio track from 44.1 Khz to 48Khz to enable reverb to work in Audio Suite.
The problem is it will only allow me to render the reverb effect to another external drive. Not the main drive with the MXF’s on it.

In fact if I put reverb on any audio file, I can only render to another extrnal drive. My mac hard drive is grayed out and an error ‘Exeption: Operation not supported, filename:/Volumes/work/Avid MediaFiles/MXF/3?creating/creating7’

The Extrnal drive with MXF’s is called ‘work’

Any further help on this would be great.

    Thanks
    Dan.

  • It sounds to me like it is the file format of the clip you trying to import rather than a setting issue.
I am a newbie too technically, but I have found there are a load of new codecs for new cameras that Avid doesn’t recognise. You’ll need to check they are compatible first before you look at anything else.

    Thanks for the post Shane.
Is that simply apple C my hard drive and copy it on to an external drive?
Or should I use a program, time machine or something?

    Cheers,
    Dan.

I have a break coming up in the edit for a few days, will do it then.
