  • Can only render to a mac OS Extended (journaled) external hard drive

Posted by Dan Crouch on May 21, 2014 at 2:16 pm

I am using MC 6.5.3 on a mac.

I am having trouble rendering a reverb effect to my external drive, formatted ExFat (as I online on pc)
I can however render to another external hard drive, formatted mac OS Extended (journaled)
I can do this and copy MXF folder at the end of a session but this could get a bit messy.

Has anyone come across this or could give me advise on how a solution.

    Thanks in advance,
    Dan.

I’ve heard of people having trouble using Avid and ExFat. If you online for PC, you might try formatting the drive NTFS and using a program like Paragon. I’ve done this before and it was fine.

Paragon on every Mac I own, MacDrive on every PC I own…its the only way to work now.

    Actually, you can.

No need to reformat. It’s just an extension that lets your computer read/write to a “foreign” file system.
