    Thanks Mads.

I’m using a Mac Studio 1 and am looking for an external drive.

I was thinking about cutting full Rez video, Sony A7 Mk 3 video clips.

We’ve gone for HD to lighten the load.

    Thanks again for the help.

    Thanks for the reply Devrim.

Can I ask if you think it’s worth getting the M2 or do you think the M1 would do the job. know it’s always best to get more initially, I just wondered if you felt it was more future proof.,

Thanks very much Mads, that is very helpful indeed. I think I’ll go with that, I use MC with a PC at work, but trust Macs more in general.

    Thanks again for your reply,

    Thanks for the reply Mads.

No I do not have other footage I am cutting with, this is a personal project that I am cutting at home.

I have managed to sort of make it look ok, but it’s definately not as good as solving the incompatible codec issue.

Thanks again for the follow up.

    Dan.

Thanks again Mads for the reply and the link to a tutorial. I followed the info and although it’s close to solving the problem, it falls short of correcting the colour issue and still requires some quite tricky colour correction after ingest. And as it’s iPhone footage it doesn’t have the colour range to cope. I’m going to work with the resolve clips and keep looking for alternative work arounds.

    Thanks again,

    Dan

    Thanks for the reply Mads.

It does go towards solving part of the problem.

When adjusted in Resolve, the colour is improved a bit, but it still looks incorrect, like the gamma is skewed somehow. It feels like my Mac may need a plug in or something to make sense of the IPhone footage. Also the exported clips from Resolve are absolutely huge, 500gig + as opposed to a couiple of gigs when they went in.

    Many thanks,

    Dan

    Hi Glenn.

I used your YouTube clip and managed to import into resolve export to Avid. Ty very much for the help, it worked perfectly! Much appreciated.

Thanks very much for your reply Glenn.

Can I ask what you would convert the footage to?

    Pro res or similar?

Also, I don’t have resolve, could I convert the footage in a plug in?

    Like Wondershare?

    Thanks again,

    Dan.

    Thanks for the reply Christian.

I have actually solved it, I didn’t have enough space on my hard drive!

I feel very foolish but I thought I’d better fess up.

    Cheers,

    Dan.
