What happens when you try and capture? Try restarting Final Cut with your camera plugged into the computer and turned on. Also make sure playback mode on the camera is set to HDV

Haha you will never guess what guys!!! Thats just it. The contrast was set to high in the universal access and when you unplug the monitor and plug it back in again it seemed to reset the universal access contrast thingy. Oh I feel so dumb. We have had 2 techs come in both thought that the card was screwed.
Thank you so much. 6 months of pain with a 2 second fix.

Hey Kevin,
Sorry probably a missunderstanding, but its both monitors that go contrasty when you start up the computer, then I take out the plug of one of them, it adjusts its self so it is not dual monitor mode, then i plug it back in and it goes back to dual monitor mode but not contrasty…
Hope that clarifies things.
Your help is sooooo appreciated btw. Thank you.

It just started one day. I think it started just after we had moved offices… So I guess it had a long car journey..
It was bought before I had joined the company and no one seems to have records of what they did when they bought it.. so im not sure if it is the original, built to order or after market card. But I can tell you that it is a NVIDIA GeForce 6600. Is that what normally comes with it..?
I believe this is the one we have https://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g5/stats/powermac_g5_quad_2.5.html
It has 10gb RAM.. its all on the same card (only one card).
Hope that helps…. and thanks again for your help.

Hmm thanks guys. I read somewhere that final cut pro exports certain headers when you export a quicktime strait from FCP that PC computers cant read. Is that the case? Because AFX on the pc doesnt seem to open just a normal animation compressed quicktime when you export from FCP but does seem to when you export using compressor.. So you think animation is the one with the least lossyness?

Thanks guys. I just went through the whole sequence as I’m not actually the editor im the tech guy lol, and in terms of the dark green full renders it seems that our editor was accidentally moving the footage a few pixels or something unknowingly and thats why the renders came up. He is always scared about having highlighted clips and so clicks somewhere else to unhighlight them, only sometimes he clicks the sequence viewer window and moves them very subtly.
Thanks for you help though,

Cheers guys. I had gone to that site beforehand but it still didnt make much sense to me after reading it so thats why I decided to post the question here. It still doesnt really make sense but the advertising agency are taking care of that stuff so i dont have to worry about it. Does it actually go online on like an FTP thing that TVNZ download or something, I would have thought it would have been easier to just receive it on Digi Beta like they used to…
