Hmmmm are the oil stains shiny? As in wet… That’ll be really tricky to just colour correct out if they are shiny and the pavement is dry.

You would probably need paint it out in After Effects if that is the case.

I’d just calculate what that ratio is in square pixels. For web 16×9 stuff I usually use 640×360 with square pixels.

We have digi 003 and protools. Lovely system, fun to use, and having physical sliders makes life so much easier. But besides that, you could save a lot of money and just stick with soundtrack pro. Does most of the same things really.

Na sorry, got that wrong. We were capturing HDV with the FCP default codec… but now proress 422 (HQ). The artifacting was with the HDV. Not really that visible in the original footage, but you could really tell it with the graded stuff. And we did side by side tests and you can tell a difference in quality.

Depends on your country in some ways I guess. If you are close to the equator there may be less nice light. But my general rule is as long as you can get the hard light behind someone so they are backlit. Then you exposé for the face and maybe use a white reflector to lighten the shadows a little with some soft light.

I know this is an old post. But I have just had a similar problem. It was saying it was playing in HD I could control it with Premiere Pro but no image or record button. Then I remembered I had done something with down convert on last time I used it. That was the problem. I had left down convert to DV on, and so thats why it wasnt showing as anything wrong on the camera.. Hope this helps if your still having problems months later 😛 or if anyone else comes across this.
