  • Not sure if I’m understanding your problem or not, but if you move the images in exact pixel increments, does that help? For example, if you’re at 30 FPS, and you move the images at 30 pixels a second, how does it look?

It’s mainly just lots of manual work.

Since the displacement map is black and white and has no alpha, you can’t use choke matte on it without some effects gymnastics. Otherwise, I don’t totally understand what you’re saying in your question.

Still sounds like the font files themselves are different. I’ve had this same problem numerous times; and that’s always the reason. If I were you, I would copy the font file from the computer where it looks correct to you and copy it to the other computer.

Try attaching that file again, but if I understand the effect you’re going for, I once had to write a script to get that kind of effect.

I never realized it, but yeah, VLC and QuickTime display colors differently.

What are you using this render for? At the end of the day, if you need to know if something is really color-accurate, you probably need a proper monitor for that. Honestly, I don’t really trust the color output I see on my computer monitor.

  • It’s just an animated text property.

Create a text layer, then go to:

Animation –> Animate Text –> Scale

From there, you’ll have to play around with the various settings. I’m sure there are a million tutorials online about the Text Animator.

February 14, 2019 at 8:23 pm in reply to: After Effect import vector comp issue

The easiest solution is to scale up your artboard in Illustrator big enough to accommodate all the layers that are getting cut off in After Effects. It might make things slower in AE if you import the comp with the “Document Size” option for layers, but it’ll be the least amount of effort.

In Mojave/High Sierra (which I actually don’t recommend you use, since it’s buggy), I use:

    Apple Menu –> Lock Screen

I also run Caffeine just in case:

That’s pretty lame if it doesn’t have an actual alpha, but as a workaround, maybe Unmult will work?
