yeah our decklink card works without a hitch as well. The only problems are the ones already listed (when you have Final Cut and AE open at the same time).

Yeah it’s just a matter of going into AE>prefernces>video preview. Then select your device from the drop down menu and bobs your uncle.

yeah I had a look at that. Due to the fact that my film stock has been telecined into video at 25fps do I have to detect a 3:2 pulldown in AE to change it back to 24fps?

Are you looking at this on a broadcast monitor? If so it mght be that your reds or oranges may be outside what is acceptable for broadcast. If this is the case I would ‘dull’ or pull the saturation out of these colors.

Thanx guys! From all your reponses I have been able to pull a great key!! Though I have one last question on the matter 😛
As I was shooting on 16mm at a failry high ASA it has left me with a large grain size. So when pulling the key it takes out the green but leaves behind a lot of gray and blue grain. I have applied a matte choke but with mediocre results.
I know that in Discreets (sry Autodesks) Smoke, it has a pull down menu in the master key section where you can marque a certain area of the plate to reduce the grain in the key. Does AE have a similar function or plugin. What is the best approach for this problem?

yeah i think creating an expression would be the way to go. Something like the DIGIEFFECTS BESERK: de starfield plugin would do the trick as well. All their plugins are pretty cool for kiche stuff like that.
