sorry, didn’t think u had to sign in to see utube.
I am exporting from AE and then opening it up in Edius pro 7 and also tried PP, but using edius more since I don’t have CC.
I have tried both straight and premultiplied with same results. I am really stumped on this. It should be simple and I have done it many times before.
Just trying to put a spinning globe with a friends business name going around it and place it in the lower left quadrant. I am making a little video for his office. I have looked at everything I can think of.
thanks

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the repsone and it is very odd.
You can see what I have. There are only a few layers in the project. I have tried everything I can think of in settings and everywhere else. Only thing I can think of is that I took a flat JPEG and used the sphere effect on it. When I select the alpha channel in “show channel and color management” in the bottom of the comp window, it is also black.
Very strange. It’s like you can’t have an alpha behind the sphere.
Really stumped. This seems so simple yet it’s not

Hi Dave,
I am looking at the video right now. I can clearly see the checkerboard when I toggle transparency. I have exported RGB +Alpha in QT as animation.
you can see what I have.

Hi Todd,
I know this, but to me it seems unbelievable that this happens. This card is not to different than the Quadro chip set(I think) and that it must be a conscious decision to exclude this from CS6.
This is becoming a fairly popular card among those with high end computers and adobe should support this.
Can you tell me if the card is supported in CC AE and PP

Hi Todd,
I have just installed a Gigabyte Titan and since doing so, AE CS6 is running incredibly slow, to the point where it is useless.

should be a screen shot showing GPU not available and CUDA greyed out.
Need a little help, as I can’t see how my systen can be so slow even without CUDA.
Thanks in advance

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the reply and I have already filled in the Adobe form. I talked to pretty experienced AV guys yesterday, one of which uses a hero 2 or 3 and he is converting to .mov. I will find out more today about better workflows and let you know.
Take care,
Dale

I would like to confirm the same. I even downloaded cineform conversion software to transcode and still had problems. I have an extremely powerful computer with 64gigs ram and I can’t even come close to real time with any effects whatsoever.
From what I have read it looks like the high compression codec used with long GOP may be what is causing the problem.
Vegas and I think Edius Pro are suppose to handle it better.
Some say CC handles it just fine, but I am not on the cloud nor do I want to subscribe as I don’t really need it.
Fix this Adobe!!!

Thanks so much again for taking the time to help. I did try some other extensions, with very little luck but not .mtg. I’m travelling and will give it a go when I get back.
It just seems like this is an issue with the program that I’m sure Adobe knows about. Tape-less media looked to be such a great way to work (I don’t make my living doing editing-I do some videos for my company)so this was why I switched. AVCHD was on the equipment in my price range.
All was good until I started getting more and more files. This is when the start ratings didn’t go far enough and I wanted keyword, now this easy workflow has left me up the proverbial #$!# creek.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the reply and I will try that when I get back. I followed your link and ended up at the Photoshop family and it wouldn’t allow new users, so couldn’t do it.
I do believe that this is a shortcoming in Bridge/PP, very frustrating. If you read above the only way I have found to do this is by transcoding to h.264.
Hard to believe
Take care,
Dale

Hello Tero,
thanks for responding and I have looked at Prelude quickly and found out how to add comments and some metadata, but no way to add specific keyworks that will be seen in Bridge or PP. Very frustrating.
So far the only workaround I have found for my problem is to transcode my .MTS file to H.264, which of course slows down the workflow.
Again thanks for the help and if you can add anything else it would be appreciated.
