I’ll chime in with other posters who could work with GoPro Protune files in PPro just fine in CS5.5, but watched everything get clunky in CS6. What happened Adobe?

I’m editing more and more projects that mix in GoPro footage. Let’s face it – it’s ubiquitous. To have to stop editing to render or plan on an outside transcode prior to import is exactly what Adobe said they were trying to eliminate with CS6.

I love how PPro is a vacuum cleaner for most media types. It sets them apart from the competition. Please get the GoPro compatibility fixed – how hard could writing a patch for that be?

    Your wish has been granted.
Premiere CC handles Gopro footage just grand.

And it’s my understanding it now fully supports RED Epic without
    installing the plugin separately/manually.

Yep all the good Epic stuff, XAVC, ARRIRaw Settings, AVCi 200 🙂

    Cheers

    Hi Dave,
Some problems, I’ve heard, can be fixed by updating the firmware in your GoPro. Have you tried that?

    Hi Kevin,

Yes, the camera is up to date. I’m pretty sure this is a PPro issue. Guess I’ll be waiting on CC…

    Confirmed Dave.

I have the same situation with gopro footage.

It’s a personal project, so I’ll just wait for CC release.

I would like to confirm the same. I even downloaded cineform conversion software to transcode and still had problems. I have an extremely powerful computer with 64gigs ram and I can’t even come close to real time with any effects whatsoever.

From what I have read it looks like the high compression codec used with long GOP may be what is causing the problem.

Vegas and I think Edius Pro are suppose to handle it better.

Some say CC handles it just fine, but I am not on the cloud nor do I want to subscribe as I don’t really need it.

    Fix this Adobe!!!

    Dale,

Reference the post above with the link to the bug report site:

    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

Maybe if we fill that thing up something will happen!

I, too, have no immediate plans to go to the cloud version.

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply and I have already filled in the Adobe form. I talked to pretty experienced AV guys yesterday, one of which uses a hero 2 or 3 and he is converting to .mov. I will find out more today about better workflows and let you know.

    Take care,

    Dale
