Hi guys sounds to me as a DG setting for tvc distribution – adobe media encoder is your friend here

You can try a test name the sequence and close ae – open media encoder and import ae sequence select your comp – now open the mpeg2 template.

Fyi ntsc gop for long gop is 15 and pal is 12

When I get into work I can make up a template that you can import into ame for future ?

Hope this helps – btw ame is the only other software that is free that can also do 422

I do prefer telestream products for this service – if you are going to do this often invest in episode pro from telestream

I am all for it – I respect walters concerns of it taking amillion years to open but having worked om smoke recently that opens in 30 seconds – as smoke weighs in at 2gb and fcp at 50gb we need to rethink the game, why not have the option to stack or float the apps and allow 64bit magic do the rest – after working on fcp for a decade it has paid my wage many times and I still show respect to the old girl.

I think the next version will need to compete with avid and adobe but with a loyal fan base offering a prosumer version could de value our services.

Don’t get me wrong there is fcp in every agency and our loyal clientele come for the staff not the kit so if the awesome version of the studio can do stuff faster and less of a workaround that works for me.

Taking about transcoding – I really fell this should be a seperate app to free up fcp – look at burn for autodesk – background encoding …

You might want to download the blackmagic codecs – in there is a disk speed test tool – I found 1 of my internal drives was playing up and causing a massive render time – also do a permissions on your boot drive via disk utility.

I found on Rhozet Carbon Coder it is LXF and in Episode it is MXF – interesting – how about doing a 30 sec test to the TV STATION and seeing if they can accept tthe MXF …

We deliver a lot of commercials to broadcasters and LXF is a nightmare look at telestream episode 5 ( 6 is in pre release) this is the cheapest solution – for 1000 bucks it does all you broadcast files and a million zillion billion other files – you can get a free trial which only does 30 seconds transcode – do you do lots of sends to the broadcaster ?

I feel your pain we had a 8 core 2008 psu blow today which has a apple raid card – it was an opportune time to buy another box – bought a new 6 core and we will send off the old one to get replaced then put it back into production – thought I could jam in the raid card but no go – managed to jam in 3 x fresh drives raid it via disk utility and we were up and editing – when the othere box comes back I will just jam the raid card back in that – if you have the drives install and stripe
