Sounds like I could be on the right track. Thanks! Can anyone comment on a Windows setup on a Mac that is known to work? I am using the Mountain Lion OS and that is the latest OS I can load without losing FCP7. Later OS’s will make it not function. My iMac is a late 2010 i5 quad core and my MBP is a late 2011 i5. Any help would be seriously appreciated.

Toast 12? I didn’t know it was out. I re-read my post and saw that I didn’t list my Toast version. I use 10 with the Blu Ray plugin. Is there a noticeable difference with the newer version? A while back I had glanced at upgrading but I was only fixated on a real menu improvement. Are you suggesting to let Toast encode instead of Compressor?

Thanks for responding. Freezing only happens during playback in one of my variety of blu ray players. Freezing is always random.. I did try to move the source to other drives. I have 11tb’s over 6 drives. Moved the source to the 3 fastest drives. No difference. That was a good possibility as well. I’m stuck for now. Stop back if you think of something else! Thanks.

Cooool! I hadn’t heard that one before. That’s one of those cool fun facts like “your ears never stop growing” or “your eyes stay the same size from birth”. Thanks!

Yes it’s bluray. The closest I saw was 1920 x 1080 60i. Your list looks better.

I’ve been using Toast since 2010. It works fine, menu’s still suck. I was hoping there was some hidden panel in Compressor with at least a few selections or deselections as to what showed on the menu page. I looked in the manual but didn’t see anything about menus at all.

I use FCP7 currently and wanted to jump ship to the Adobe suite. Tired of all the Apple workarounds for BluRay. My Daughter is a full time college student and needed the Adobe suite so I said she could use my 27 imac and MPB occaisonally and I’ll check it out to see if I might want it. I was using Snow Leopard, Adobe said it wasn’t supported and I needed to upgrade. I paid a lot for the FCP suite and if I updated higher than Mountain Lion, FCP wouldn’t work. So we got Mountain Lion. FCP works fine. Spent 2 days with Adobe support trying to get it to load on these machines as we went ahead and paid for it all, the whole creative suite. Their techs couldn’t get it done, I only understand English so I don’t know what they were saying. Horrible experience, after 2 days of hell, we got our money refunded or so they say. 2 weeks and still not back on my credit card still. So……I trudge on looking for options. The problem with all the software makers in this world is keeping you in the very latest software and hardware, or making you stay with older technology. I had a tough time finding Mountain Lion and had to pay for it. The latest OS Apple gives away. Thanks for your input, I wish it had worked for me.

Just to follow up. I tried the free trial of Izoptope RX3 Advanced. Really good stuff. The de-reverberation filter made it completely go away. Problem is I just can’t pull the trigger with the cost of it as I couldn’t say when I would ever use it again. You can’t keep the repair with the trial. For the money the software costs, we are better of financially re-shooting. But, for those of you with deep pockets, I urge you to try that package, it has automated and manual features. The denoiser is excellent too. Thanks to all that had input here.

I’m glad there are a few possibilities anyway without going right to re-record. Quick question: Are these suggestions to be performed in FCP7 or do it Soundtrack Pro?

Yeah did that too. I have gone file by file and it comes down to 2 photos. Now I discovered if the cross dissolves are removed, one of the 2 render. Put it back and it won’t. Weird.
