Hi. My project is done using FCP7 in a ProRes 422 timeline using a 29.97 frame rate. A friend has the new Encore and was going to help me make a menu and burn with it. The boiler plate frame rates in encore don’t line up with my frame rate using the H.264 dropdown box while attempting to set it up. I poked around on this site but haven’t had the answer present itself. Any ideas? We are both new to Encore but have used FCP for a few years.

So you’re making a bluray? I’m not sure why you wouldn’t see 29.97. But not all framerate/field orders are supported.

Yes it’s bluray. The closest I saw was 1920 x 1080 60i. Your list looks better.

    Hi Craig,

60i is the same as “29.97 interlaced”, Adobe is just rounding the numbers. Interlaced video produces 29.97 frames per second (30fps rounded) and those 29.97 frames are made up of 59.94 fields and that gets rounded to 60. There you go.

    Thanks

Cooool! I hadn’t heard that one before. That’s one of those cool fun facts like “your ears never stop growing” or “your eyes stay the same size from birth”. Thanks!
