Selecting the tracks by targeting them and untargeting the ones you do not want to copy.

Maybe using ‘Lift and Extract’ functions for the in and out points will be helpful.

BTW :I frequently copy multiple clips across multiple tracks and move them to a different place on the same or a different timeline without using a nested sequence. Unfortunately this can have the effect of a Freeze ( Updating Timeline Error) on occassion.

Use Razor Tool to make a ‘cut’ at in and out point.

It doesnt happen to me (and I cant recall it ever happening) but may I ask of you ?

Do you edit using the Razor tool in the timeline mostly or do you set in and out points in the Source window ?

Turn on Snap while you edit and the problem will go away.

Select all the clips involved by “surrounding them with the mouse cursor. Group them if you want.

Ctrl Drag them to where you want .

I’m not desperate for an upgrade.

Last thing I want is a host of new features and enhancements rushed to an imaptient demanding market just to keep up with the competition products.

I am happy to wait for a rock solid (stable) application that can operate on current hardware platforms. ie. not on the ragged edge of technology.

DId you try the Ctr-T function

Select clip – CtrT – Spacebar play to In or out point – “I” or “O” (set in or out point) – Clip updates in timeline

I realise this is not “asynchronous triming” but it may be the work around you need.

Respectfully…how is this done in other editing applications ?

ie. what is the single step that trims video and audio tracks in different directions. You seem to be saying that with a single command (“one step”) various tracks will select and trim themselves in various directions to given points in the timeline.

I still don’t get it. Maybe you could give an example of where and why this would be done.

I use the keyboard shortcuts available (nad my custom ones) as much as possible and my workflow is much like Larrys (above) within the limitations of PremPro.

I have mainly been frustrated that it is impossible to shortcut which window is focused. eg Source / Program /Timeline. If these were enabled by shortcut key strokes, the application would be much more condusive to my particular workflow.

(I have feature requested it from Adobe)

…but why do you want to digitise something that is already on the timeline. Isn’t it digitised or how else would it be there ?
