One additional bit of info. Printing to tape doesn’t seem to be a problem.

Just stating the obvious because I miss stuff like this all the time:

Make sure you are clicked on the timeline before hitting render.
Trash preferences and reboot, might fix it.

You use it to apply a filter, effect, move to a bunch of clips at one time. But, keep in mind that if you nest a bunch (or is it a gaggle) of clips, then apply a dissolve to the front of that nest, you won’t have that extra footage at the front like you would if it was just a shot. You can adjust that by opening the nest as its own time line (Double click) then extending the front (or back) to have more footage.

I agree with Tom. I have owned Betacam camera for 10 years. The playback heads on those decks are terrible. Drop outs, etc. If you have a hundred bucks or so, rent a UVW 1600 or 1800 and save a lot of grief.
