Thanks Bob, like I said it’s been awhile. Yeah I know the drives are out dated, but they do the job and I’ve never had a problem. Upgraded drives are one of the next upgrades I was planning on doing.

    Thanks

How much do I love the forum. Same thing just happened to me (Thank goodness for Auto All or everything would have been blue).

Got back, searched CANNOT PROCEED and bingo, problem solved.

    Thanks ALL!

In 20+ years of directing I’ve never had a DP ask me the focal length, let alone the gaffer. That’s a conversation between the DP/LD and Gaffer not me. And, any gaffer with that kind of attitude would not be working very long in my world.

I just finished both the beginning and advanced version of Ripple’s DVD series and found it excellent.

Thanks Walter, as always you’re a big help.

Just before I got your post I figured that the FW connector I had going to my deck was causing the conflict. Unplug and voila! Everything seems to working okay now, but I’m sure I’ll be running into a few issues–5 years of CineWave usage makes one kind of lazy when it comes to learning new things–but man I got every penny out of that system.

Never capture to your boot drive. Media should live on it’s own separate drive. That being said, not really sure why trashing preferences would delete media.

    A couple of the basics:
    * Is your media drive different from your boot drive? If you’re putting your media on the same drive as boot drive, could cause problems.

    * Is your media drive more than 90% full? That will also cause problems.

    * Have you trashed preferences? Might fix the problem.

Sorry is those suggestions are too basic, but it’s all I got. Good luck.

Set an in and out point in your timeline and it will export just that part of the timeline to Soundtrack.

Okay you’re my new hero. It worked! I was about to shell out 3k for a Kona card and breakout box. If you’re ever in LA I owe you a nice lunch. Thanks man!
