It’s formatted as MS-DOS file system(FAT32). The new disk is in a firewire enclosure.

I apologize for not responding to your questions. I don’t know how to find out how it’s formatted, and I don’t know why the filename matters, but it’s ‘george1’. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the question.

Hi, I’m trying to link between my boss’ Mac OS X and mine to share FCP files. She is in Miami and I frequently have to fly there to edit. We are looking at Apple Remote Desktop 3 to solve the issue of being in different cities (and to cut down on the cost of flights), and I was wondering if the file uploading from one comp to another is really long or not. I wish the My Book World would cover Macs through the Mionet software, but it doesn’t. Is the Remote Desktop going to allow me to transfer movie files? Mark, I know your post is from a long time ago, but did this system work for you? I guess if this doesn’t work, I will just wait for FCP Server to make its debut. But it would be nice to have options in the meantime. I’ve also read about Timbuktu Pro. Help?!? Thanks.

  • Thanks. How do I repair the disk permissions? Also, why is this not working when there’s so much space on a brand new hard drive?

I figured out how to trash my preferences. Unfortunately it didn’t fix the problem. The effects still aren’t showing up. Any other ideas? Thanks!

I have whatever burner came with my MacBook Pro. Is an HD burner something that you hook up to your computer? Also, is it possible to just compress the movie and still print it in Studio DVD? What kind of software can I burn an HD DVD with?

Thank you for your help. I understand that I can’t output a 720p quicktime movie from FCP and print it in iDVD. So, how do I use the compressor, and what settings do I have to have it set at, and then can I print it in iDVD or do I have to use an alternative software? If I ugrade to FCP 6 (Studio 2), can I use that iDVD to print 720p DVDs? Thanks!

Thanks for the help, guys. Could you tell me how to compress in a compressor, if possible, in 720p? I’ve never done this before. Any help is really appreciated.
