Thanks for the help, guys. Could you tell me how to compress in a compressor, if possible, in 720p? I’ve never done this before. Any help is really appreciated.

Thanks for responding. So you’re suggestion then is to not deinterlace it? Is there is no way to print out a 720p from iDVD? The only reason I put a deinteralacer on it was because it looked pixelated and low-quality, and I was just experimenting to make it look better. If there isn’t a way to print it out from iDVD, what kind of software do you recommend that is either cheap or free? Thanks!

It says 1080i24p on my camera. So hypothetically, if I recorded in 1080i24p and digitized in 720p, would there be any problems or loss of information?

    Dear Sir,

I’m not intentionally trying to give you in particular a hard time. On the screen, however, when you look through the viewfinder, that’s what it says: that I am shooting in 1080i24p. The camera is a JVC GY-HD110U. It is entirely possible that I am misunderstanding something, but under Video Format, I set it to 1080i, and for the output, it also say 1080i. So if JVC needs help, please tell them to contact me on Creative Cow.

    Sincerely,

    Atari Norris

In the Video Format HDV PB Output, you can select either 1080i or 720p. I chose and shot the whole project in 1080i. ??

Software Updates doesn’t work. That’s why I called Apple. Everything about the download page for 5.1.4 is fake. It doesn’t work. Apple even told me to go through a third party, which I would gladly do IF I could find it and it didn’t lead back to Apple.

    This is ridiculous!

The page at Apple appears like it should work, but the download doesn’t work because it had been discontinued. Also, any third party website I’ve found offering the download just bounces you back to the original Apple site. If anyone knows of a place to get it NOT through the Apple store, please share. I need to start digitizing these tapes, and I can’t do it without 5.1.4 or upgrading (and PAYING for) FCP 6!

    Thanks for all your help!
