I don’t believe you can have the marker names in the timeline. However, if you go under Windows, Markers, it will open a new panel that shows all of your markers, names and in and outs.

Do you have scale to frame size checked on your clip? If so, it looks like Premiere is ignoring that attribute of your clip when you pull up the export dialog box.

For a quick fix, I would uncheck Scale to frame size on the clip and under effects scale the clip manually. See if Premiere retains that adjustment upon exporting.

You may want to trash preferences and see if that fixes the issue.

Dave,

Thanks for your insight. I didn’t think of using AME to render AE comps. I’m running through AME with my custom preset and everything looks great.

I did have AE encoding a 16×9 DVD, however the check box for locking a 4:3 aspect ratio was checked. This may have been the issue for the small pillars on either side.

Martin,

What format was the video and audio when you uploaded to YouTube. This is the strangest thing. I listened on my iPhone and heard the strange noise. I would try to re-upload to YouTube and see if that does anything. Make sure you are using YouTubes recommended settings for audio. My guess is something weird happened when YouTube encoded your video or your audio codec you used is not what YouTube wants.

Anne,

If the sun blew out the clip then there won’t be much video/color information to bring it back. Try putting the three way color correction on your clip and adjust the whites down. You may have some color information you can save this way.

Other option is to cut around the blow out. Put b-roll on top or just make a cut.

Inside the sequence that came from Plural Eyes, highlight each clip and the associated audio, right click and nest. This will create a new sequence that shows up in the project panel. Add that sequence into your “Synced Clips” folder and treat the sequence just like a clip.

Use the track select tool and hold down shift to select multiple tracks at any point in your timeline. Or manually select all of your clips and drag them where you want them.

A few things to consider before even thinking about purchasing the mini. Do you need a mac? Premiere can be run off of a PC, and considering that your budget is of highest concern you may want to see what a PC can offer you price wise.

Also, what type of footage will you be working with? Will you do heavy motion graphics work?

I wouldn’t recommend using a Mac Mini for editing. The specs on the 2011 Mini are not very powerful, and you may not have a good editing experience unless you transcode everything before editing. An external hard drive via FW800 is a must, at minimum.

If you want Apple, the new iMac is a great machine for editing with plenty of power. You want this machine to work for you at least 3 to 4 years while you are in school. The Mini might get you through 1.
