Stan,

Save yourself the extra work of exporting and just nest your synced clips together. Highlight all video and audio, right click and nest. This will create a new sequence in your Project panel, and you can cut this like it is one long clip.

Obviously this does not address redundancy. You will need to perform a backup of your footage as well.

I have an idea how to do this, however it may not be the best solution. Assuming you are completed with your sequence, you could highlight the clips throughout and do a render and replace audio. The new audio should show up in your project panel. Right click the new audio and click replace footage. Point it to your audio file you created from Audition. That should update the clip with your new audio.

Thanks for the reply Alex. Have you replaced an iMac hard drive before? From what I read it is difficult to open the screen.

That being said, I am leaning more toward your recommendation. I haven’t had a flash drive before, but somethings telling me that the extra power of the CPU and GPU may be more beneficial for what I am doing.

Thanks for the response. Those links did help. I finished the project with X and really enjoyed it. I will have to get use to the interview cutting workflow in X, but when it came to b-roll it was a joy to work with.

One thing I couldn’t get down is keywording multiclips. When I would tag a specific part in the timeline, in the event area I would show the entire clip instead of the small section I selected.

I’ve been having this same problem as well and posted months ago. Unfortunately I didn’t get any responses. My only work around is to mark the clips that I need to run a filter on and do that last before exporting out. A real pain…

Thanks for the X.264 recommendation, but it looks like its only available for PC and I’m on Mac. I’ll give your recommendation a try at 17mbps.

Jerry, that makes since. Just took a look at the Video Processing settings. I have Render 10-bit material in high-precision YUV. So I am wondering in my case, editing 8-bit footage from a DSLR, if I should select Always Render in RGB to avoid this problem?

Hi Noah,

Thanks for your responds. I don’t mind natural flares when shooting. What I’m finding is that the filters I am using add in more flare. I wanting something to protect the lens and keep consistent with the way the lens reacts to lens without the filter.

Hey Tom, I’m curious what specs you chose for the z820 (memory and graphics card)? Do you think there is a large performance improvement from the NVIDIA Quadro 2000 and the 400?
