It sounds like you need to render. You need to tell us more information about your clip info, what your sequence settings are, your computer specs. I know from my experience that I don’t see great quality until I render full.

Are you selecting the highest most folder that contains the content folder and last clip file?

Make sure you are view RBG and image + wireframe is checked in the drop down box in your canvas. It’s the drop down on the top, third from the right.

If you were to do this manually you will need to enable your audio waveforms and match the clips to each other the best you can. Click on the button that looks like an arrow in the bottom left of the timeline. It will pop out a menu and you will find enable audio waveforms there.

This is why some people use clapper boards or simply clap there hands before the take begins. It is a spike in the audio that you can easily sync.

If you don’t mind spending $150, you can purchase software called Plural Eyes. It will sync all of your clips together and will save you a lot of time.

You mean the Voice Over Tool not Log and Transfer right? Check your input setting on the voice over tool. Sometimes I have to click through and refresh so it receives the audio. You can also try refreshing your A/V device.

Thanks for the advice David. Depending on how quickly this project needs to move will decide whether I purchase now or later.

Sounds like LTO is something I should consider for keeping copies of my digitized footage. You’re right, it will be quite an effort digitizing hundreds of hours of footage. For now I’ll probably purchase a few external RAID drives and keep the footage there.

Thanks for your reply David. Here’s my dilemma…I need to upgrade my current computer since my iMac does not have the connectivity for the MX02 LE. The new thunderbolt ports on the recently released iMacs look awesome, and saw that these product will allow many options for connectivity (https://www.sonnettech.com/news/nab2011/index.html). But I really am curious what the new Mac Pro will offer. Maybe the better question is WHEN will the new Mac Pro be released. It seems like a bad time for choosing a new editing system. What’s your advice?

    Thanks for your input Steve!

Thanks for that insight Walter. I haven’t had to deliver in Blu-ray yet, and I thought I had the tools to do it. Looks like I need to reevaluate. Have you heard at all if Encore is more reliable in 5.5?

Compressor did exactly what you asked it to do. When you choose a DVD preset, the end result is a video and audio files for DVD burning. Are you wanting to deliver to a DVD or are you wanting a single file for uploading to the web?
