You would probably have better luck doing this in Motion. Creating the gradient that you want is very easy and manipulating certain letters in your text is easily done as well. In Final Cut use the Boris 3D titler to give the line different sizes or text.

This has happened to me before. I’ve found that when you are doing log and transfer, you shouldn’t be doing much of anything else on your computer. I think it may be a bug in log in transfer.

This is perfect, thank you. I tried this method and it works great. Funny thing is I’ve watched this before…it just didn’t occur to me to use it here. I had some trouble doing it with the Repousee so I just used a different method to give it a 3D look. Thanks again!

Once you check the Watermark filter, you will see a Position drop down (center, lower left, lower right, etc.), scale by parameter and alpha parameter.

I have Pro Animator for Final Cut and Motion and it works great. Like Tom said, it gives you very sophisticated 3D animation and the built in presets make it very simple to achieve a basic and professional looking animation. I’ve also used Motion and basic key frame animation inside of Final Cut for logo animations and it did the job. After Effects also does a great job too. It all depends on how complicated or basic your logo animation will be.

Hi Jack. Nice to see someone from Houston here on the forms. I usually use Photoshop to size my graphics appropriately within the frame I will be working with in Final Cut. In my experience, small graphics has been a pain. A graphic designer gives you this large image and you only need it 25% percent of the size. It’s hard to give you specific advice because I don’t know what you are dealing with (if you have vector files, PNG, JPEG. The best quality you will get is receiving the graphic in vector, size it appropriately in Photoshop, and use that in Final Cut.
Can you give some specifics about the type of image and your image sequence?

This all depends on your budget. I think most would say the 17 inch MacBook Pro is a good way to go. I haven’t edited multiple clips on a laptop so I can’t tell you how smooth playback will be for you.
