You mean if I just drag the clips to the 24P timeline, Premiere DOES NOT automatically remove the pulldown of those 24p clips?

I also noticed that when I dropped in the 24p footages (from the DVX camera) on a 29.97 timeline in Premiere and then sent to Encore as 29.97, the final DVD runs smoother, much like real movies on DVDs.

I am guessing that by dropping the DVX’s 24p footages (which are actually 29.97) in the 29.97 timeline, the pull-down is not removed, providing smoothness to the video. And since there has been no change in the original video (since the pulldown is intact), then video will not speed up nor down, maintaining the original speed and length.

    What do you guys think?

Are those flags? When I tried to do the settings the size on the disc increased by almost 1 gig. So I’m wondering if Encore is actually adding some frames.

I also checked the frame blending. No luck. Fast panning on 24p mode should just be avoided.

Thanks Pankaj! I did an experiment and the size on the disk doubled.

Thanks guys. I’ll stick with the camcorder + adapter + lens setup for now.

What can you say about the 5D and 7D in terms of image skewing? Are they better than the D90? Is 5D better than the 7D in that regard?

What puzzles me is the smoothness when the raw 24p footage was played on Windows Media Player. How does Windows Media Player do that? If it can play 24P smoothly, then there should be some settings in Premiere that we can tweak to make it play like Windows Media Player.

How do I include a real 29.97 video clip in this project? Encore might also put flags in it if I just drop it in the timeline.
