I adjusted the resolution to highest and the banding was still there. But when I used the Intel Indeo® Video 4.5, the banding was removed (the available codecs are Cinepak Codec by Radius, Intel Indeo® Video 4.5, Microsoft Video 1). Now, my problem is the frame rate. The video is not running smoothly. Here is a screen shot of the options:

Talking about lenses, what are the essential lenses that I need to have, aside from the one the I have now which is a Canon 50mm f1.4 SLR lens?

Can I use this filter:

But the numbering on these filters are different, it’s just ND8. Yours are decimal numbers (.3, .6, .9).

Using Premiere, I removed the pulldown and exported them as uncompressed windows files to After Effect. In AE, I used a 23.976 composition setting and color graded the videos there. I then exported them using the Lossless preset (with the audio enabled).

Now here’s the problem: when I transcoded the videos in Encore, the audio layer is longer than the video. What should I do? Am I missing something. Thanks!

After seeing how much the video skews, I think I’ll stick with the camcorder + lens adapter setup for a while.

Yes, the project file is small. But when I color correct the raw files in After Effects and save them as lossless (or even quicktime animation), the footages become really big. When I asked about archiving, I’m talking about the whole folder containing the project file, raw videos, and color corrected footages. My average project consumes about 150 gigabytes of internal hard drive. So I was thinking of archiving them to an external hard drive and adding the cost of the hard drive to my price. The only problem is, from where I live, that small increase in cost is usually an issue to most clients.

And since I used 24p and not 24pa, I think my observations are correct that dropping the 24p footage into a 29.97 timeline makes a better video than putting it on a 24p timeline, removing the pulldown, and editing pure 24p. In the link that you sent me, it says that I should use 24p standard if I plan to stay on video and edit at 29.97. Am I doing this correctly?

Now my last question would be: if I do that (editing 24p at 29.97 timeline), will the video have exactly the same duration as that of editing in 24p timeline and removing pulldown (the one that you suggested)?
