How about if I mount the canon 50mm fd lens on the GH2, can I get by with the mechanical only adapter (without the optical element) and still be able to focus to infinity?

I’ve read somewhere that since the Canon has a bigger sensor, the DOF will be shallower.

How about the 60D, does it use 100% of the area of the sensor just like the 7D and 5D? Thanks and God bless.

That is exactly what I was thinking. If LED billboards have low resolution, then the moire might not be visible… actually even the fine detail in the video that causes moire might also be not be visible.

[Guy McLoughlin] “As has been shown many times now, Panasonic AVCHD 4:2:0 can be almost impossible to separate from 4:2:2 higher bit-rate footage if it was properly shot.”

How does the broadcaster know that your submitted material (finished and edited) is either 4:2:0 or 4:2:2? Do they just rely on your word when you submit the material? Or is there some type of test done on it?

When you use those external recorders, do they record sound? What will be the output format and frame rate?

Thanks, Mark, but I’m talking about old cameras like the XL1, XL2, DVX100B that uses DV compression, not DSLRS shooting HD and compressed in AVCHD format.

[Richard Harrington] “You can export via MEdia Encoder without rendering”

How do you do this with Adobe Media Encoder CS3? with CS5?

February 23, 2011 at 12:33 am in reply to: “live” focusing using the Panasonic GH2’s EVF

In that case, is there a need for a Zacuto viewfinder? Is it more of a “want” than a “need”? If I can use the EVF or the LCD (by itself, without the Zacuto) to get critical focus while live shooting, then it’s better to use the money for other more important things… like audio. What do you think?

Can I use an XLR converter like this?

I can also use an audio mixer (with XLR inputs) that I already have. What do you think (aside from being less portable)?
