Well if I was going to go that route I might look into just getting a new Mac Pro system. I did some digging online and found the ATI Radeon 9600 AGP card is recommended for my system. So are you suggesting that I don’t even bother with that card either?

    Thanks Mark.

A friend of mine just told me to look into the Tascam 1082. He said he uses it with FCP and Soundtrack Pro as well. I agree that mixing can be done in the timeline or the audio mixer in FCP but I feel like I have better control with something externally as odd as that may sound.

Actually after I posted my original question I found a way to do this. I parked the playhead over the clip I wanted to use. I then clicked BORIS then VECTOR SHAPE. Went into the controls tab and changed the parameters to my liking then dragged the oval shape over to the Canvas and selected Superimpose. Go back over to the browser and scroll down to uncheck FILL IN (color); Add a border, reposition the oval exactly where I wanted it on the screen, rendered it and was finished.

    Thanks for the replies!

wow that sounds complicated doing it like that. I take it there is no way to do it like you would in photoshop? Like using the markee tool or polygamy (spelling) tool to cut stuff out of the sho? If I have to go frame by frame that is going to be time consuming dont ya think?

WOW I knew QT player came with FCP but didnt know the PRO version did. I was always told you had to purchase the PRO version if you wanted to do compression type work. I guess I wasted my money then! 🙁

Youtube recompress to Flash means??? I am new at this whole compression thing..Just trying to learn and understand…

  • I didnt write the settings down…Is there a way I can pull up that info from the compressed file? One complaint I have been hearing is that my current settings take so long to play back and when it does playback it breaks up.
