[james Lackleter] “Part of an editing software’s responsibility is to work seamlessly between 3rd party software.”

Correct me if I am wrong here, but isn’t it the responsibility of the company developing the 3rd party software to get things right?

What is the life span of the new E Series P2 Cards?

When recorded once daily, at full capacity, the new E Series cars are reusable for up to five years. Current P2 cards, including the A series, as well as the previously discontinued R and H series, have a record life of 30,000+ uses, which means it should last more than 80 years when filled with data and overwritten once a day.

How can you monitor your E Series P2 card’s usable life?

The E Series P2 card’s remaining usable life cycle can be viewed on a computer with the Panasonic’s P2 formatter software (available for download on https://www.panasonic.com/broadcast). Additionally, a notification is given in the camcorder’s LCD/viewfinder or the P2 recorder’s LCD display as the card approaches the end of its life cycle.

  • When you hit share, select your settings and then hit next, a finder window should open for you to select your destination.

Plain titles render fine for me, but as soon as you throw outline, glow or drop shadow on them and add some position or scale keyframes on them forget about it. I get spinning beach balls and export failures. I have been creating all text in photoshop.

Top right corner of the viewer window has a switch that drops down. “Show Both Fields” is in there.

I went a little further into one of my timelines and noticed that I had a Custom Title in a problem area. I changed it to a basic title and now I have normal function. Not sure why that would matter.

I trashed the preferences and even went as far as downloading and re-installing. Besides the render issue, when sharing, I get “The share operation has failed Quicktime Error: 0”

My system has been very stable up until this point. This is frustrating.
