This is not a FCPX issue. You need to go to the utlilites folder in Applications and open the Audio MIDI Setup.app. Then click on the Configure Speakers button in the bottom right corner and correctly configure your output streams.

Not so much. My 2009 Mac Pro has really slowed down when using basic text.

This whole track or no track thing reminds me of when non-linear was introduced. Many linear editors didn’t want anything to do with that “editing on a computer stuff.” “It will never replace a room like this…”

I had this same problem, but was fixed for me when I upgraded to the latest 10.1.3. Now I can scale text without pieces getting cut off.

To scale, you do not have to scroll down in the inspector as far. So I guess there is some advantage.

Just scale the video track to 0%.

I remember getting the QuickTime -50 error a lot. To fix it, I had to delete all render files before export. Also, turn off auto render.

This is exactly how I felt since I jumped in at 10.0.3. I still work with FCP legacy, Avid (cringe) and Premiere on various projects, but FCPX is by far my favorite.

I created my own HD title safe which also includes the 4×3 safe zones using photoshop. I stick it up at the top layer and delete after all graphics have been placed.
