Thanks for the confirmation. I don’t understand why Vegas doesn’t put a [y] button next to [x] button on all dialog boxes. It is much easier to click cancel than multiple Undos; more importantly, it is a mental model shift for me as this concept goes against all other window’s applications. I guess I have to live with this quirk.

Thank you so much!!! I will try this when I get home. Is there a way to locate the file in the media window from timeline? I know which photo I want to replace on the timeline but my media folder has hundress of files which is hard to find.

Thanks Edward. Once again, I need your help. What I means is most in applications I have options to save changes or exit without saving; however, all most all Vegas dialog windows do not have Save or Cancel. For example, in the Vegas Event Pan/Crop dialog window, what if I try something and decided not to apply changes to timeline. I just want to exit the Event Pan/Crop dialog window. Right now, I only see a [x] button on the top right corner which always apply changes to the timeline upon exit. Is this how Vegas works or am I missing something.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there a way to completely replace the old photo? I don’t want to keep it in the project as I need to delete it from my PC.

Another annoying thing is there seems to be no way to enable delete confirmation. I accidentally deleted custom Protype preset collections that I downloaded. Is there a way I can enable delete-safe mode where every delete requires a confirmation (unless overridden by holding shift-delete)?

    Thanks.

I will check Excalibur out. As for the right mouse to shuffle events, I would still want to simplify the workflow as I am doing this a lot. Each pop-up will take away my concentration. Ideally, using the left click to shuffle events by drag and drop is the best; however, I am happy if I can use the Ctrl (or Alt or shift) mouse click.

    Thanks.

    Edward,

Thanks again for the quick reply. I love this webboard. I also found some of your scripts (dating back to 2004 but still good.) I love the lock track script and set event length script. You are a genius!!!

Thanks for your quick reply. I will try it when I get home. Another quick question. What is the easiest way to find out the length of a photo on the timeline? The trimmer only shows the default length. Is there a way to customize the screen display to show an event length when click on it?
