im guessing you’re using optical frame change. it works better from cut to cut if you apply per clip(right click time interpolation) as the whole timeline it tries to blend across cuts. also there’s 3:2 pulldown if you want an AE pulldown type, a little more juddery like a dvd pulldown. alchemist od or terenax would give best frame change.

if it only happens a few times, crossdissolving the adjustment layer color correction is the fastest.

if it happens like 50 times, you could try a free auto remove flicker and auto white balance after effects template. works so well, I haven’t changed the code in years.

also, if you need a professional plugin, there’s many to choose from:

    these work in premiere:

i was reading and seeing that HLG gets muddy in shadows, so if you use it, you need two things:
    1. a mostly high key shot with almost no shadows
    2. hlg is not made for skin, mostly buildings/landscape shots

its just too crunchy in dynamic range without RAW imho. vlog is the best.
also, you need a separate lut for its contrast range. I’m not going to even
bother with it because almost no one has a hlg tv. it doesn’t help dynamic
range. if anything, the muddyness makes it worse.

any shots with motion? the all-i was supposed to make really nice motion like film movement as well.
you know what I mean? weird judder with h.264 cameras. this could make the gh5 a workable film camera now.
12 stops dynamic range, no clipping, good colors, good motion.

also, a shot of the sky or a flower at 10 bit would work well with trillions of colors(might need to export from AE as premiere and media encoder doesn’t support png higher than 8 bit. your skin was exactly 70 ire and dead on the skin tone line.

I tested it with the gh5 neutral 2% raised blacks. I fiddled around and couldn’t get better settings from the xmp than I had before. But wow! the all-i has beautiful highlight rolloff now. just check out the reflection of the sun off the wood railings and the leaves. no more ugly dlsr clipping. man, that lut sure loves that camera.

vlog, good exposure, large dynamic range, outside, single still image PNG, trillions of colors or if not possible, millions of colors 🙂

are you using an XML to retain edit points? yea, cineform level 4/5 or dnxhr are really, really high quality, close to lossless.
