AE has really high quality reverb and delay effects. They’re under audio effects.

kronos can add motion blur to a layer based on the movement in another layer. It’s a different method to render out from 3D apps, but the end result is the same.
but reelsmart motion blur can actually remove blur in -2 mode if you accidently shot with a slow shutter. it’s faster too.
Did that help muddle the decision? 🙂

Well, RGB Straight uses the bounding box alpha instead of the matte alpha.
I don’t know if you’re using alpha mattes, but definitely read page 27 in the pdf. You should follow Foundry’s user’s guide to the letter.
Short of handing me your project, I don’t know why it’s failing for you. Maybe you’re using h.264 footage.

You MUST pre-compose your matte layer before you use it or Kronos uses the source layer without any effects that you apply.

if there’s no audio, just interpret as 23.976, drop into make new comp icon, render out with fields 3:2 pulldown cadences.
this is how I would do it if there’s synced up audio.

if you have mac’s compressor, conform to 23.976fps. It will both change the audio and the video and stay in sync. then in AE, interpret as 23.976 and drop into make new comp icon. render out with fields 3:2 pulldown cadences.–pc
if you have pc, you can still sync up in AE without having to use separate audio software. interpret as 24fps. drop into make new comp icon.
right click timestretch 100.1001001Now from the Layer Menu select Enable Time Remapping. This last step is very important as it triggers After Effects to use a very high quality audio re-sampling technique
Precomp it and place it into a 23.976 comp. render out with fields 3:2 pulldown cadences.

color finesse’s smart limiter is the simplest way because it smoothes the luma and chroma transition automatically instead of lopping it off.
