are you trying to create a LUT from scratch with LUT buddy or do you need one for a certain camera?

make sure it’s in the right folder.
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\Magic Bullet LUT Buddy\*.*also, AE has a LUT effect already in there called apply color LUT

export XML from NLE, conform in resolve once done. client now has r3d EDL as XML and original masters all edited without any quality loss. Perfect for handing off grading.

export from NLE, as 16-bit log DPX or 32bpc openexr can hold RAW overbrights. -
don’t overlook proxy files as an alternative, very small and very fast.

if you could key off of one of the letters, you could use color picker to drive a gamma layer automatically or use sampleimage()

maybe the infamous boomerang keyframes needs to be changed to hold keyframes?

looks like effect shift channels, alpha as lightness then effect-levels, rgb black should serve well as an alpha matte to
color correct luma. or even cc wire remover.im surprised that the clone tool failed. a simple offset track should have worked.

1. AE’s shadow/highlight filter will bring up the exposure geometrically
2. color finesse had a grey point eye dropper. that will set the white balance.
3. then use curves to remove the tints. set its transfer mode to color.there’s a few parts you’ll have to have custom adjustment layers/keframes. the colors go absolutely bonkers for 1 sec.
you can finish off with neatvideo/DCT blocks, unsharp and a film lut or something. this needs bluray because a mpeg2 couldn’t handle the low rez.
i played around with it in AE 2015. I didn’t keyframe anything.

if you leave it, make sure that you have an inline compressor like ratio 3:1 or a smart limiter. You can always uncompress, you can’t recover clipping.
