    Hi guys,

I’m really new to this whole RAW video file situation so maybe someone might be able to help. I’ll be trimming different raw formats (Arri, Red, Blackmagic) and the client whats RAW files back. Is there any way to export a universal raw format from Premiere?
I’ll be very grateful for any information!

im not sure about blackmagic and arri, but for red files you can use redcineX (from the red website) to trim and export r3d files, or export a xml file from premiere to open it in redcine and then export it as r3d’s.

for arri and blackmagic, maybe with davinci resolve.(wich is free)

or you can simply send the original non-trimmed raw files?

You can’t export RAW as RAW info is only created in camera when shooting.

export XML from NLE, conform in resolve once done. client now has r3d EDL as XML and original masters all edited without any quality loss. Perfect for handing off grading.

    or..
export from NLE, as 16-bit log DPX or 32bpc openexr can hold RAW overbrights.
