Okay i figured it out! The 64bit Version of C4D11 has a lot of missing codecs. So i simply opened up the project in the 32bit version and it worked!

Hmmm….okay that’s gonna be a tough one, but I guess i’ll try doing the spline myself. Thanks for all the help!

There might be a twist to the story though…just a few days ago these video planes worked. Somehow i got rid of the material and had to make it again, which is when they stopped working. I’ll try the codecs tomorrow and cross my fingers that they work, but all in all this has been a very confusing and frustrating experience.

Well, the custom built machine isn’t connected to the internet and probably never will be…is there a way i can check the codecs and get the ones i need without connecting to the internet?

I apologize, i am not an Illustrator User, i’m more of a Photoshop person. So is whatever image i have loaded in Illustrator already a spline? IF not, how do i make it one?

okay guys, new problem. After Effects won’t handle ANYTHING on this computer. before now, i could do almost anything in after effects and it could handle it. When i open it now, anything i do makes it slow down and just quit, and the same thing happens in Premiere Pro. Also, in the tutorial, they move the comp into the timeline and tons of elements are there; when i move the comp into the timeline, nothing shows up – no cameras, no 3D objects, nothing. just the composition. of course, even if i solved that issue, i wouldn’t be able to do anything because after effects keeps crashing. has anyone ever had these issues or knows how to solve them?

okay thanks guys. I managed to churn out a 12 hour (!!!) render overnight, because i’m just on a little macbook, waiting to build a custom computer and eventually buy a mac pro. Anyway, after 12 hours, i ended up with TONS of different rendered items that i put into after effects and basically had no idea what i was doing. What do i do in after effects once it’s done with all the passes etc.? Thanks again for the responses, and i’ll make sure to check out the tutorial at Cineversity.
